Strengthening technology, governance and financial services at the Falkland Islands Government
As part of its commitment to enhancing operational efficiency and supporting long-term growth, the Falkland Islands Government commissioned Lancia Consult to undertake an independent Financial ICT Review. Working across Treasury, ICT and operational teams, we assessed technology, processes, governance and organisational capability to identify opportunities for improvement and develop a strategic roadmap for the future evolution of financial services.

"The resulting recommendations will support future investment decisions and help ensure financial services continue to evolve in line with the Government's long-term objectives."
The Challenge
The Falkland Islands Government (FIG) wanted to ensure its financial services and supporting technology were positioned to meet future organisational needs. With ambitions to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen capabilities and support long-term growth, FIG commissioned an independent review of its financial processes, systems and governance arrangements.
The objective was to gain a clear understanding of the current landscape and identify opportunities to modernise services while building on existing strengths.
The Solution
Lancia Consult conducted an organisation-wide Financial ICT Review, engaging stakeholders across Treasury, ICT and operational teams through interviews, workshops and process walkthroughs. We assessed financial processes, systems and organisational capability to identify improvement opportunities and ensure recommendations addressed both technology and the wider operating environment.
The engagement resulted in the production of a comprehensive recommendations report and phased roadmap designed to support future decision-making, process improvement and technology investment.
The Impact
The review provided FIG with a clear evidence base and strategic roadmap for the future evolution of financial services. By bringing together perspectives from across government, the engagement helped establish a shared vision for future improvement and identified opportunities to enhance consistency, governance, reporting and organisational capability.
The resulting recommendations will support future investment decisions and help ensure financial services continue to evolve in line with the Government's long-term objectives.
