The Challenge
Our client, a global third-party logistics (3PL) provider, was struggling with the growing complexity in its internal reporting processes. While CargoWise was already implemented across the organisation, the default system reports were insufficient to support our client’s needs. Some reports lacked the required data granularity for analysis, while others weren’t in a suitable format for uploading into an external accounting system or Business Intelligence platforms.
With data fragmented across multiple CargoWise modules, including Forwarding and Accounting, our client sought to minimise the manual intervention necessary to consolidate that data, both to meet reporting needs and to provide timely ad-hoc support for their operational decision-making.
The Solution
Lancia Consult worked closely with our client to develop and deploy five customised reports that automatically integrate data across Forwarding and Accounting modules, aligning with our client’s global reporting format. Our deep knowledge of and familiarity with CargoWise’s database, combined with our understanding of our client’s business processes, allowed us to deliver a customised and scalable transformation. Our team utilised advanced SQL logic and User Repository objects to streamline data extraction and transformation across multiple tables.
Furthermore, our customised reports enabled an integrated and smooth workflow with our client’s accounting system. Reports were periodically emailed to the relevant users in a format ready for immediate upload into the external accounting system. This eliminated the need for further manual edits.
